Empowering growth, resilience, and meaningful change.

I am Doctor Elizabeth Balsys, a fully qualified Chartered Counselling Psychologist and an Accredited Psychotherapist passionate about helping people recognise their innate capacity for change, healing, and growth. My approach is grounded in the belief that we all have the ability to live more authentic, balanced, and fulfilling lives when we understand our thoughts, emotions, and behaviour.

Before becoming a psychologist, I built a successful career across several industries from working in HR and finance to running my own businesses, experiences that now deeply enrich my therapeutic work. Having worked within high-pressure corporate environments such as investment banking, finance, technology, and recruitment, I understand the unique emotional challenges professionals face: stress, imposter syndrome, perfectionism, burnout, and the quest for purpose and balance.

My transition into psychology was driven by a lifelong desire to support people in creating meaningful change. I hold a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, a master’s in psychology, and I am also a fully accredited Psychotherapist with further training in Couple and Relationship Therapy. I am registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and a member of the Division of Counselling Psychologists (DCoP). I also hold master’s degrees in human resource management and professional accountancy, reflecting my multidimensional background and commitment to continuous learning.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working across a variety of settings, including the NHS, GP surgery, the voluntary sector, charities, and private healthcare supporting clients with a wide range of presentations such as depression, anxiety, addiction, OCD, phobias, body image concerns, health anxiety, trauma, addiction and complex relationship dynamics.

Currently, I am employed part-time by HCA Healthcare UK, where I work onsite at Google, as well as online with other corporate clients in sectors such as investment banking and law. I provide psychological therapy to employees from a wide range of professional and cultural backgrounds, supporting them with challenges such as stress and burnout, anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties.

Alongside this, I run my own private practice, where I work with clients from diverse industries and walks of life, helping them navigate personal and professional challenges to improve wellbeing and resilience. As a psychologist and psychotherapist, I offer a compassionate, collaborative, and empowering space. My integrative approach draws from evidence-based modalities, including Person-Centred and Psychodynamic approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy, tailored to each client’s unique needs and life story.

Having navigated several career transitions, myself, across different countries, industries, and life stages, I bring empathy, realism, and hope to my clients’ journeys. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, work-related stress, identity issues, or simply feeling stuck, I aim to help you reconnect with your strengths and find clarity and confidence in your next steps.

I’m married with three children and currently living in London. My personal and professional journey has taught me that growth often comes through challenge, and that with the right support, every individual has the capacity to thrive.
